Porous Concretes

Porous concrete is also known as an environmental protection floor or ecological floor. It is a kind of porous lightweight concrete prepared by using aggregates, high-quality cement, cellulose ether, water resins, color strengthening agents, stabilizers, water. The surface of coarse aggregate is coated with a thin layer of slurry to bond each other to form a honeycomb structure with evenly divided pores, therefore it is characterized by air-permeable, water-permeable, and lightweight.

Porous concrete uses stones as aggregates and is bonded by cement mortar to gain strength. Among them, the thickness and strength of the cement mortar layer play a decisive role in the strength of porous concrete. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the fluidity of the cement mortar and the bonding performance between the mortar and the aggregate, so as to control the thickness of the cement mortar layer within a certain range, so that it can ensure the strength of the porous concrete at the same time, and increase the permeability coefficient of porous concrete as much as possible.

It is necessary to add cellulose ether to improve the performance of porous concrete. As a water-retaining agent with excellent performance, MikaZone™ Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose(HPMC) can improve the performance of cement paste while enhancing the long-term strength of porous concrete.
