Extrusion

The raw material loaded into a ceramic extrusion machine is usually fine powder, with a combination of additives in the form of binders and plasticizers to impart the desired rheology. This allows the ceramic to flow freely thru the die, with or without heating or vacuum.

MikaZone™ Cellulose ether products can provide good lubricity and plasticity for ceramic extrusion products and can entirely give the operability of ceramic product molds. The very low ash content can ensure a very dense internal structure after calcination, and the surface of the product is smooth and delicate.
